There are condolences waiting approval on DAVID's Tribute wall

David L. Carpenter, age 79 went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2018. He passed at his residence in Paris, TN.

David was born October 12, 1939 in Indianapolis, IN to Noah and Minnie (McCleary) Carpenter. On December 6, 1974 he married Gladys Stewart Carpenter, she survives.

David was a skilled laborer. If something needed fixed, he fixed it. He loved working with his hands. Whether it be fishing, wood working, designing and painting barn quilts or working on motors, he loved it all. His first passion was our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Before he fell ill, he was an Elder at the Thompson Creek Baptist Church in Como, TN. He taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. David and his wife Gladys studied the word of God daily.

Your sense of humor, infectious smile and general orneriness will be greatly missed. May your heart be forever full of love and family. One of his favorite verses was John 15:5.

He is also survived by one son, David (Dawn) Carpenter of Bremen, IN; three daughters, Penni of Plymouth IN, Rebecca (Kim) Cramer of Elkhart IN and Tina (Matthew) Mikels of Warsaw IN.  He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Louise Muncy and Norah (Phil) Gamble along with 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and another one on the way; five step-children; Roger, Terry, Jewel, Tracy and Chris with several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. David also has many nieces and nephews and cousins and his Aunt Nellie.

Preceding in him death are his parents, a daughter Diane, granddaughter Shanna and great-grandchild Paisley along with his sister Jeannie Friebe.

A memorial service will take place at Thompson Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, December 15th at 10am. His cremains will be laid to rest at a later date alongside his parents in Culver IN.
